Wild Lime

The team at Wild Lime held a fashion parade as a fundraiser for the red cross and I was asked to go along. The room was dark and small, but I knew that going into the gig so the plan was to set up 2 sb800's on stands, and bounce them off the ceiling...

On arrival I discovered that I had only one sync cord for my Pocket Wizards. So I triggered one SB800 using the PW and the put the other SB800 in SU4 mode and let it slave off the other. The one problem with this is that the SB800 will then fire when ever it see's a flash... even if its not yours!

As my luck would have it there was one other person taking happy snaps and there fore using my light, but I'm pretty easy going and with that SB800 running at 1/8th power there was still plenty of juice and recycle time for me!
So as you can see from my quick little map, I had one SB800 either side of me on stands, which were bouncing off of the ceiling. (thank you for the low white ceilings) There was probably 2-3 meters between the front one and the back one so as to allow 1. better coverage through out the room. and 2. straight away I had one light as more of a key light and the back one being a fill light.

Any way here is a few pics from the night. Camera settings were f5 1/60th @ iso1000

I'm Back...

Things have been a little quiet here on this blog as I have spent most of March in QLD for work purposes. I did manage to take my camera with me and have a couple of shots to share... plus some other news

Of the time spent in QLD it was all work and I got a total of 3 hours to get out and be a tourist...

This beach near Yeppoon was a beautiful sight and then as I got closer I discovered it was not sand I was looking at.

This was taken from Mount Archer overlooking Rockhampton, which is where I spent all of my time. I waited for 40 mins and in amongst fighting the mozzies managed to get this shot... with NO tripod!

Finally congrats to my friend AngieBel who had one of her images featured on the redbubble home page... Nice work Angie

Jet Setting

A trip to Queensland, A wedding and a birthday makes for a full week in my book... but it was fun. The trip to Rockhampton was for work purposes and no play. I will be heading back in a few weeks though and I will have a small amount of time for some sight seeing...

This is just one pic that I got on my way home. and it was good to get home after spending 12 hours in Airports and Planes... just to get from Rocky to Mount Gambier
